I didn't know that there was a roundhouse in Bonham. Several years ago, I found a website that was going to chronicle all the roundhouses in Sherman and Denison. But I don't think it ever went anywhere. I know there was a T&P roundhouse in Denison and about the Katy roundhouse at Ray Yard and the Frisco roundhouse in Sherman, but not about the others. I think the site said there were at least twelve in Sherman and Denison.
James, the following link is the a article written by Tim Davis on the Bonham Roundhouse move from Sherman http://www.ntxe-news.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi?archive=29&num=50360&printer=1
Thanks for the link. I saw an 1880s bird's eye view drawing of Denison that had a turntable and a two stall roundhouse down in the area by the Katy depot that was labeled as T&P, but I'm not sure if I remember it correctly, or not. It might have been KO&G. That other website just never went anywhere, and I can't even find it anymore. Too bad, because if it had lived up to it's ambition, it would have been a good source for modelers. I know of only a few modelers that model this area. I used to belong to the club in Denison, that was modeling the Katy in and around Denison in the late 40's, early 50's, before it folded. T&P/MoPac is definitely on my list of favorites, though.
nicely done. How is your experience with Shapeways?
ReplyDeleteSo far good, the vent stacks above are my second printing by them. My first was 3 light targets for signal lights
