Oil Loading Platform - Part II

Continuing on with this project, next I install the handrail which turn out to be a complex challenge for me, even thought I read the instruction a couple time I still managed to put on the hand rail wrong twice here the end results

Next was the platform walking surface

Then assembled the stairs

 Then the overhead super structure, not sure I am going to use this

All left for this kit is adding the last to sub-assemblies and prepping for paint. I have another one of these to assemble hopefully it will go smoother with lesson learn.

Oil Loading Platform - Part I

I started  a new kit today, it is one of two oil loading platforms that will be needed for the oil terminal at Bells on the layout. The kit is from Train Cat Models

First was to remove all the components

Step one was to assembly the fold down platforms that allow access to the tank car

Next was to assembly the main support structure

Next add fold down platforms and legs

Next cross braces, these were a pain to install, wish the mfg would make them a little long to allow a different approach to installing them.

Clarksville- Stock Yard - Final

It has been some time since my last post. I have not been able to do any modeling due to some extra on the side work.

Today I got to do some modeling and finish up the Stock Yard kit.

I am not too happy with the way this kit goes together. The mfg needs to re-think the outside corners of the kit and the ends of the load chutes.
