Progress - 5 May 2012

Here the progress since my last post.

Clarksville  - finish the stock yard siding.

The Mainline roadbase needed a little work first


Then installed track


Photo of the uncoupling magnet


Just to see how it is going to look photo

This completes Clarskville trackage, so moving on.

Honey Grove - Installed some of the industries access trackage behind the mainline

Started with the crossing connecting the two mainline turnouts


Then track back to two more turnouts


Then connect to the mainline and siding crossing


More to come.....

Progress - 28 Apr 2012

Last couple of days, I have been working on adding the industry siding at Clarksville for the Cotton Seed Oil Co, Freight House and Depot. Turnout is in place for tht stock yard just need to lay the track now.

Here the overall photo, the depot and freight house is the white paper just before the switch.

The Cotton Seed Oil Co. is comprised of  a seed house (receiving) , main building (seed and cake presses) and a hull house (shipping) along with storage tanks for the seed oil.

Work a little on the layout over last couple of days and laid the track into the oil terminal area.

Golden Spike - Mainline Track Installation Completed

With the completion of installing the Bridge and associated track each side the Mainline is complete and the Golden Spike as been driven.



Other work today was installing the Boosters along with power wiring, also got net wiring from the command station to the first two booster and the wireless working. With a couple of jumpers I got to run a train for a short distance today.




Also had my first group to visit the layout today so Thanks to Gary, Jan and Richard (who's been here before) for coming and the encouraging words guy's.

Track Laying - Weekending 4/03 Udpdate

Finished the roadbed for all the mainline. Here are couple photos of the overall layout








I should finish up the mainline in the coming week with the exception of the area where the mainline cross overe each other


I am waiting on a pair of cut stone bridge abutment's and I need to assemble a Central Valley 150ft. Pratt Truss Bridge Kit as shown below.


This will allow me to complete the mainline.

Track Laying - Weekend 3/27 Udpdate

I have been working on finishing installing the ceiling tile sub-base for the rest of the Layout and some roadbed and track. I need to build a bridge and I am going to have to hand-lay a 45 degree crossing once my material gets here, so here are the latest photos.







I also need to started getting my Easy DCC system installed, so I can start working on track and turnout power/control wiring. I re-used the pull-out draw from the old HO layout and the booster panel.

Track Laying - Weekend Update

Here is were I am after this weekend.


I accomplish getting Clarksville mainline and first of two sidings, along with switch machines. Second siding going to wait as I think more on the industries going in here.

Staging Track - Finished

Last few days have been installing the staging tracks, feeders are installed and (8) tortoise machines installed.

Sorry no photo's tonight, but I will add some tomorrow.

Next up is Clarksville area of the plan, will need to build up the base first, then on to installing track.

Track Laying - Starting

Started laying the foundation for the staging tracks and work the grade up to Clarksville. 

Staging area - one end will be on a slight grade this was done to reduce the grade up to Clarksville from a 3% to a 2% grade.
